Please help Robiul!
8 Years old boy lost both hands!!
Some of us may have read it in the Bangladeshi newspapers (Prothom Alo and Ittefaq) or watched it on TV channel (Bangla Vision and NTV). Robiul used to live with his mother and stepfather. According to the Bangladeshi daily newspaper, “Prothom Alo,” in 2013, his stepfather made a preposterous decision: to cut off both of Robiul’s hands and leave him near the train tracks in pain and agony. People found him unconscious and took him to the hospital. The good-hearted Mrs. Ruksana Kamar, a government executive of the economic zone, heard the story on TV/newspaper and rushed to the hospital. After a long agonizing adoption process, she adopted Robiul (see court documents). Subsequently, a number of hospitals specializing in prosthetic limbs in the US were contacted to see if they could help him. The Philadelphia Shriners Children’s Hospital agreed to provide treatment free of charge.
We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Kamar who not only showed immense empathy and compassion for Robiul, but also succeeding in the difficult task of finding appropriate treatment for the little boy.
We would appreciate if you would make a contribution for Robiul, and encourage your friends in your own community to do the same. Please call any of the BADV executive committee members if you have any questions.
